One in five employers are hiring more apprentices to help them through the tough economic climate, but why?
Research undertaken on behalf of the National Apprenticeship Service has shown that there are a number of business benefits to hiring an apprentice, and these were highlighted during National Apprenticeship week last month – but too few systems companies make use of these training opportunities available for their young people.
80% of employers who employ apprentices agree that they make their workplace more productive
88% of employers who employ apprentices believe that apprenticeships lead to a more motivated and satisfied workforce
83% of employers who employ apprentices rely on the apprenticeship programme to provide the skilled workers of the future
81% of consumers favour using a company which takes on apprentices
Employers who take on a 16-18 year old apprentice only pay their salary. The Government will fund their training.

Together with Skills for Security, we've pulled together some useful information you can use when deciding whether to take on an apprentice.
Plus, by attending IFSEC 2010, you can see the value and skill of an apprentice. Not only will the Apprentice Skills Challenge demonstrate how many organisations are benefiting from their skills and abilities, but you can also speak to organisations such as Skills for Security.
